The paint is dry, the mood lighting is installed and a luxurious hotel style ambiance is all set to welcome patients to North Shore Private Hospital’s new $11 million Day Surgery Unit.
The stunning new facility features three large operating theatres, private pre-operative bays, a recovery lounge, and an inviting reception and waiting area. It is conveniently located on the podium level of the North Shore Health Hub with a link bridge to North Shore Private Hospital.
Chief Executive Officer Richard Ryan said with construction and fit out now complete, the team was working hard to stock the Day Surgery Unit with medical equipment and supplies, before welcoming patients in the coming weeks.
“These new facilities enhance the patient experience and compliment the outstanding care provided by our North Shore Private Hospital team,” Mr Ryan said.
“Our hospital staff and medical specialists are looking forward to providing patient care from our new facilities in early August.”
Ramsay Health Care’s Development Manager Michael Pain said he was thrilled with the completed project and praised the collaboration between North Shore Private Hospital, Ramsay Health Care Development, and the builders, Akalan Projects.
“The Ramsay Health Care Development team are very proud of this new offering. It’s a distinctive and functional Day Surgery Unit that will appeal to the patients and doctors of Northern Sydney alike,” Mr Pain said.
Director of Akalan Projects David Duffy said elements of the project had been challenging, as his team was constructing the Day Surgery Unit at the same time as other building works were being completed.
“It really does look good. It’s a purpose built facility that really embraces a new Ramsay look and we’re very pleased with the outcome,” Mr Duffy said.
